Improved clutch calibration for the Defender HD 11. The 2026 Can Am Defender HD11 comes from the factory with what many feel is a somewhat de-tuned CVT clutch calibration. This kit uses a new calibration of CVT components to work together to improve belt grip and overall performance. Initial engagement is sooner at a lower RPM than stock clutching and offers a smoother, more positive engagement of the belt.

The kit offers a balance of smooth initial engagement and improved performance but maintains a nice midrange cruising RPM.

The flyweight lever arms in our kit are a different roller curve profile, distribution of mass and design, and thus the “total grams” are most likely irrelevant when comparing to stock or others. This package is designed to work together for a noticeable improvement in throttle response and acceleration compared to stock clutches. The kit is adjustable for different tires and situations. The instructions tell you exactly how to set up for your situation, tire size, etc..

Larger or heavier tires in particular hurt performance everywhere. Rotating weight and the added gearing from larger diameter tires hurt acceleration and top speed. This kit improves bottom end and belt performance without loss of top speed, in fact acceleration is quicker to get to top speed. A better clutch calibration for controlling “rate of shift of the belt” for these tire sizes.

Frequently Asked Question: – This kit is for the primary clutch only and I want the best, should I order the other –2 kit even though I have the tires that are described for this kit ?

Answer;- No not normally. The stock helix and setting in this kit are best for most situations. If though, you are on 32” tires and high load situations often (most often ride sand terrain, heavy loaded, or a lot of mudding with more extreme mud tires) you could use the DBHD 11-2 kit, and there are instructions in it for that. There could be slight losses of top speed and higher trail cruising RPM if using the -2 kit when not necessary.
