Pull the secondary clutch on a high-mile Polaris and you will sometimes find the square plastic pucks worn down and the helix ramps scored. Those pucks ride in the secondary every time you get on and off the throttle, and once they wear, they start taking the secondary with them.
What do the outside rollers replace?
The Polaris UTV Secondary Roller Kit is for the outside rollers only. It includes two rollers and two pins. Per the product details, it stops square pucks from wearing out your secondary and helps keep the secondary clutch from cracking.
What is the roller made of?
The rollers carry a new Nano Dry Lube coating and are high temp, tested to 400 degrees. The high lubricity is there for smooth movement, and the listing says they last longer than stock pucks and give faster backshifting. The design is listed as patent pending.
Faster backshifting is what you notice from the seat: the machine gives you engine braking sooner, and the clutch returns to low ratio quickly when you lift and get back on.
